vintage New York City Subway train car roll sign
Vintage NYC subway train car roll sign and box, featuring the number "2" in the iconic red circle of the IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit) Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line.
This is a manual crank version as these type of route signs started in the 1940’s
The sign displays the route number "2" in a red circle, typical of the numbered lines. there are multiple line numbers and other information action that can be displayed as the s roll is complete.
The multi destination-line# scroll is printed on a durable, semi-translucent film material to back light.
Very cool piece. Scrolls alone without the box sell for $100-200.
